Who We Are
VIP Pain Services offers Pain Management in the Jacksonville area in both acute and post-acute settings. Our providers are board-certified with a focus on pain management. We also partner with Florida Pain Physicians to provide our patients with comprehensive outpatient services, including medication management, interventional pain management, and regenerative medicine. Beyond providing safe and appropriate medication management options, Florida Pain physicians are highly skilled experts in non-surgical interventions, using state-of-the-art treatments to help relieve pain and improve function.
Our goal is to ensure that your pain management needs are addressed across the entire healthcare continuum. More specifically, we are committed to providing a range of pain management approaches that can evolve with the patient over time, tailored to their unique circumstances. By offering care across the continuum, we help minimize and properly address gaps in Pain Management.

Meet Our Founder & Chief Clinical Officer
Carrie Miller is a board-certified nurse practitioner and critical care clinical specialist with nearly two decades of experience in acute, post-acute, and complex pain management. Her clinical background is rooted in high acuity critical care, where she developed a deep expertise in managing pain for medically complex patients across hospital and post acute settings.
Carrie completed her advanced training through the University of Maryland Trauma Program and was selected for highly competitive rotations including Johns Hopkins Head and Neck Trauma and the University of Maryland Trauma and Transplant services. This foundation shaped her approach to pain management as both clinically rigorous and patient centered.
As a clinical leader and healthcare executive, Carrie has played a key role in developing and scaling multidisciplinary inpatient and post acute pain services across hospitals in Jacksonville. She was instrumental in launching acute inpatient pain programs that improved access, care coordination, and patient outcomes across multiple care settings.
In her role as Chief Clinical and Operations Officer, Carrie focuses on building high performing teams, optimizing clinical workflows, and delivering compliant, evidence based pain care that prioritizes function, safety, and quality of life. She is known for empowering patients to actively participate in treatment decisions while relieving them of the burden of navigating fragmented healthcare systems.
Carrie is deeply committed to advancing the standard of pain management through thoughtful leadership, operational excellence, and compassionate care. She believes the most meaningful outcomes occur when patients feel heard, supported, and equipped to regain control of their lives.
Meet Our Medical Directors

Alexis (Alex) Jimenez, M.D.
Medical Director/Chief of Pain Medicine at Ascension St Vincent
Dr. Jimenez is a Mayo Clinic trained, double board certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician. He completed his anesthesia residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, where he was elected as Chief Resident. He then went on to complete an Interventional Multidisciplinary Pain Management fellowship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, which is ranked at the top of the pain management programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report.Fluent in Spanish and English, Dr. Jimenez obtained his medical degree from the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. He then started his post-graduate training with a General Surgery internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL.
Furthermore, Dr. Jimenez has expertise in all the areas of chronic pain and his advanced training and a special set of skills allow him to provide the best care possible to each patient. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and is involved with national, international, and local interventional pain management societies. He also holds staff privileges at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Memorial Hospital, and Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville.Taking an individualized approach to pain management, Dr. Jimenez creates a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to each patient’s specific needs. His philosophy centers on a holistic, evidence-based care approach using interventional pain management procedures, conservative medical treatment in conjunction with physical rehabilitation, and behavioral support. Most interventional procedures are minimally invasive and provide considerable relief.Dr. Jimenez is also an expert in the field of regenerative medicine, including stem cells and PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) injections. His pain research and innovative use of cutting-edge technology have been presented and recognized by several associations. He is proud to serve his fellow Floridians, providing his patients with the highest level of care.

Sanjay Bakshi , MD, MBA
Daytona Medical Director
Dr.Sanjay Bakshi is the current CEO and co-owner of PRC Associates and Alliance Specialty Surgical Center since June 2021. He relocated to Florida from New York, where he has been in practice since 1994. Dr. Bakshi is Triple Board Certified and Fellowship trained in Pain Management. Dr.Bakshi did his pain management training and was also subsequently on staff at Johns Hopkins. During his residency, Dr. Bakshi received the Dripps Award for Outstanding Anesthesia Resident. Dr. Bakshi also has an MBA in healthcare.
Dr.Bakshi was the Director of Pain Management at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. He has also served as President of the New York Division of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and as treasurer of ASIPP. Dr. Bakshi’s area of expertise is primarily in minimally invasive therapies for the treatment of pain of spinal origin – neck and back pain.
Dr.Bakshi has been selected every year since 2012, as & ” Best Doctors; by Castle Connolly in New York Magazine, U.S. World & News Report, and New York Times Super Docs in 2014 and 2015. Dr.Bakshi has been interviewed by the media on ABC, 7 On Call, WCJB ABC News, WB11 New York, and Fox 5. Dr. Bakshi has co-authored numerous textbooks in the field of Pain Management. He has also coauthored the national guidelines on opiates and anticoagulants. He is also very active in the field of spinal cord stimulation.
